Summer Holiday Programme
18 July 2017
Non-uniform day - Wednesday 19th July
17 July 2017
The government has announced a recent scheme in which one teacher and two students from every state funded secondary school in England are able to book onto one of our FREE battlefield tours to the Western Front.
All tours will be accompanied by a UCL National Education Co-ordinators as well as an experienced battlefield guide accredited by the Guild of Battlefield Guides. Each tour will be tailored to enable students to visit sites that relate to your region or locality, and where possible, individually researched graves.’
In order to make sure these places go to the most deserving and dedicated historians, so Childwall is running a competition amongst Year 7-8 KS3 pupils. The quality and quantity of research will help indicate the pupils who will have this great FREE opportunity.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Your task is to choose any two names from the Wall of Remembrance within our school and seek to research and develop as much information as possible on these brave pupils (at the time the school was known as Holt High School). Any help you can provide in building these skills would be appreciated, if you need any further help please contact me through the school. All competition entries must be in by 04th July in 2017, and the trip will take place in February 2018.
