The welfare and happiness of every student is extremely important to us at Childwall Sports and Science Academy Sixth Form. We want every student to achieve their full personal and academic potential and we support students in the following ways:
Every student is assigned a personal tutor. Your tutor will guide you through your courses, monitor your progress and help you with careers guidance, choosing university courses, study skills, personal issues and the development of your progress file.
Tutorials and revision sessions are available for individuals and/or small groups to help every student achieve their maximum potential. Timetabled private study sessions are also included in students’ timetables.
Our dedicated student services team are available to support our students every need, from day to day advice, finance support, counselling, university applications and vital careers decisions.
PARENT-SIXTH FORM RELATIONSHIP
We believe that parents and guardians play a vital role in ensuring students achieve their maximum potential and we are therefore committed to maintaining a successful relationship with them.
Parents will receive:
- Prompt contact in the event of poor attendance, behaviour and progress.
- An invitation to attend progress evenings.
- Progress reports four times a year.
Every student participates in our work experience programme and we actively encourage students to volunteer across a range of opportunities provided. These opportunities are invaluable on CV’s and UCAS applications, as well as enhancing students’ knowledge of their chosen career.
Our ground breaking Sixth Form Learning Centre contains our sixth form support services and learning mentors, interactive learning suites and a quiet study area, providing the perfect environment to ensure our students achieve their maximum potential.
